Today, Bronwyn Le Grice, Founder and CEO of Australia’s only dedicated digital health accelerator and commercialisation support organisation, ANDHealth, has been honoured with the BioMelbourne Network Most Valuable Women in Leadership Award.

The award recognises women who have made outstanding contributions to advancing the biotechnology, medical technology, and pharmaceutical sector, and inspires more women to pursue leadership roles.

With more than 18 years’ executive experience across venture capital, biotechnology, medical devices and now digital health, Bronwyn is one of the first BioMelbourne Network Most Valuable Women in Leadership Award recipients to come from a purely commercial background.

“As someone who came to the health technology industry from a purely commercial  background, I am truly honoured to be recognised in this way by the BioMelbourne Network and my industry peers. It has been a privilege to work in this sector, where we all bring our collective expertise to develop and commercialise new technologies, which ultimately benefit humanity through improving patient outcomes. I commend the BioMelbourne Network for their ongoing commitment to raising awareness of the necessity of diversity and inclusivity across the health technology industry in Australia. Their leadership in this space has been of significant benefit to women working in STEM industries and to the industry as a whole,” said Bronwyn Le Grice.

“ANDHealth has been a project which, since inception, has embraced diversity; of sectors, of skills and of backgrounds. ANDHealth rapidly accelerates the scale up of digital health companies by harnessing the power of collaboration across our corporate membership and partner network. On behalf of that network and the Board, I congratulate Bronwyn today on this much-deserved award,” said Gavin Fox-Smith, Chair of ANDHealth.

Now a proven scale up engine room, ANDHealth exemplifies how business approaches and hands on commercial experience can be employed to significantly impact the success of Australian innovation. ANDHealth’s programs are designed specifically to address the unique commercialisation challenges faced by digital health companies. Recent outcomes reported by the 10 cohort companies which participated in the ANDHealth+ pilot demonstrated $28.7M capital raised, 165 jobs created and over 70,000 patients impacted.

“Every year we are impressed with the number of nominations for these awards and are in awe of the phenomenal achievements of women across our sector. Our winners are not only leaders in their respective fields, but also role models for progressive leadership and equality,” said Lusia Guthrie, BioMelbourne Network Chair.
