From the first smartphones to touchscreens, eBay to emojis, the tech that dominates our lives today was born at a startup you’ve never heard of. ‘General Magic’, the multi-award winning feature documentary, is a tale of how great vision and an epic failure changed the lives of billions.
Used as a teaching tool in the Harvard Business School MBA program on “avoiding start-up failure”, ‘General Magic’ is a must-see. The lessons to be learned from this story are as relevant and transferable to digital health in 2023 as they were to the Magicians of Silicon Valley in the 1990s.
Following the screening, we’ll have the pleasure of hosting a Q&A with the Film Director and Chief Strategy Officer at Kheiron Medical Technologies, Sarah Kerruish. Sarah is a great believer in the power of stories to heal and to help bring change to our world, which is why she has devoted part of her career to making movies. As Chief Strategy Officer at Kheiron Medical Technologies, Sarah supports the CEO in developing and executing the strategy of the company with the goal of radically improving cancer diagnostics and outcomes across the globe.
During this session, Sarah will share her perspective on the lessons to be gained from ‘General Magic’ that apply to healthcare innovation and her journey from Silicon Valley to using AI technology to transform breast cancer screening in the UK NHS.
This isn't your usual movie screening – it's a journey through time and tech.
